Work and Play

Last weekend we went to Virginia Beach for the annual Building Material Suppliers Association meeting. This trip wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable if we didn't have the company of the rest of the family. It is always fun when all of the cousins are together!

Lily was so excited when we arrived on Thursday; she skipped her late afternoon nap and stayed up past her bedtime! I love watching as her relationship with Pat grows and changes. Her eyes light up and her hands wiggle when her papa walks in the room.

Pat and I went zip lining along with Becky, David, Ella Joy, Juju and Noah. We learned after arriving that it is the largest on the east coast. I wish I had more pictures because I felt like I was a contestant on American Ninja Warrior! There were a number of different courses and various difficultly levels. I stuck to the more moderate courses and left the "black diamonds" for the fellas.

The girls loved climbing on Pat. He is their human jungle gym!

Our rooms were on the ground floor which made hanging out on the beach convenient and trips back for food and forgotten items very easy.  Once Lily got over eating the sand she and Denver enjoyed playing together.

Lily continued her swimming lessons in the hotel jacuzzi and loved relaxing with Pat during his morning dips.

And she loved standing at the sliding glass door "talking" to everyone outside.

"Hey Denver, let's breakout of this joint!"

Lily went to daycare in the evenings which was great! She enjoyed herself and so did we. The best part was she was sleeping like a baby when it was time to pick her up!

We all had a great time and it was a nice way to bid farewell to our North Dakota cousins!
