A Weekend for our Girls

Pat's jobs are coming to an end so we have decided to take advantage of the opportunity we have to stay in the mountains. We started this past weekend off the same way we did on our last trip, Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. When we reached the top we could see the bright orange reflection in the tower. I think the sunset was even more beautiful this time.

We have been nursing Lily's first cold so we let her get a good morning nap before leaving the cabin on Saturday. The late start didn't leave a lot of time for hiking so Pat suggested we visit the Babyland General Hospital, where cabbage patch kids are born! Honestly, we expected it to be pretty cheesy but we were both surprised when we pulled in.

My Cabbage Patch Kid!

This one was the cutest doll in the store!

Pat's not the type to get embarrassed so I will go ahead and say that he was just as excited as I was! Of course Lily didn't know what was going on but she enjoyed herself. She seemed unsure at times but the big dolls with yarn hair brought a huge grin to her face.

Checking out the baby nursery.

Can you find the one that doesn't belong?

The cabbage patch!

"That one is my size, and this one has a binky but something isn't right about these two?!"

She chose to adopt "Lola"!

We decided to stop by Secret Falls on our way home. This time we took the whole family!

Molly's first waterfall!

I walked Lily out to the water and she immediately sat down. She splashed for a few seconds and then grabbed a handful of sand and shoved it in her mouth. Pat spread out a towel thinking she would sit there and gaze at the beauty around her. Yeah right! With all of that sand to eat?! I distracted her with crackers while he took a dip then he scooped her up and took her out. I'm not sure if it was the water she loved or her Daddy....

Side note: Lily loves to wave....at everything! If I leave the room and come back, she waves. When she wakes up from a nap, you get a wave. When the dogs walk by, she waves. When a stranger walks up and says, "Hi cutie!", they get nothing, just a blank stare.

I have to give props to Molly for being well behaved on the hike. She is rambunctious (to say the least) but she stayed on the path, following Maggie's lead and was polite to all of the people and dogs we met. It was a little more work for us but it was worth it to see the satisfaction it brought these two!
