Going Out With a Bang

We were finally able to have our annual girls weekend. For the last three years Shelly, Haley, Jenny and I have been taking a trip together every spring. Babies, pregnancies, engagements and moves made nailing down a date difficult. We ended up enjoying time together with our significant others at my parents house on the lake.

A lot has changed in a year....Shelly now has Anacapri, Haley is working on her plus one, baby Denver, Jenny's left hand is shining like the top of the Chrysler Building and I have my little Molly Polly (an update on her in a post to come)!

The weather was amazing! We took boat rides, rode jet skis & bikes, talked and enjoyed lots of food. After a long Saturday we all nestled down in front of the tv. All of us except Pat of course. He and Molly were down at the dock enjoying the new speakers he splurged on for the boat. I walked down to the gazebo to let him know we all getting ready to call it a night. He asked me to join him for one last song, it happened to be one of my favorites. I didn't really want to but I'm always the party pooper so I gave in. I walked down the ramp and before I realized it I was at the end, I stepped down expecting to land flat on my foot but only my heal hit that last step. The next thing I knew I was on the ground. I knew the pain was bad but any rolled ankle hurts at first. Long story short, Sunday it was swollen and I couldn't put any weight on it. Late Sunday afternoon I made it to my parents and upon further examination I was on my way to urgent care. Yep it was broken. They put me in a splint and referred me to the orthopedist. Monday the orthopedist put me in a cast and referred me to the foot specialist for a second opinion on the need for surgery! Wednesday they removed my cast looked at my X-rays and foot and now I am scheduled for a MRI on Saturday. They think I might be able to heal without surgery but he thinks it may be broken in another place, ugh!

So here I sit with no cable looking around at all of the things that need to be done...going crazy! But on the bright side of things, I am catching up on some much needed posts!
