Yesterday Pat decided it was time to get his jet ski up and running. As usual, making the 45 minute ride to the lake to do
anything on the water when the temperature isn't above 80 degrees is not very high on my priority list. But Pat's persistence always beats out any of my excuses, so off we went to get the jet ski. It has been in storage at the Stiers so we went by there first. After discovering the battery was dead, we headed towards the lake to get the charger. All the while Pat was telling me about the romantic sunset cruise we would be going on (on the pontoon, NOT the jet ski). I was looking at the dark clouds in the ski, doubting the ride would happen. And all of the sudden the rain started. And next, the hail started coming down. We could only see a few feet in front of the car. I was yelling, "Stop, turn around!" and he was yelling, "Be quiet!" And then it stopped, just as quickly as it had started. The temperature had gone from 78 degrees to 55! It was the weirdest thing I have experienced. The storm left a haze over everything as the sun started to come out again.
By the time we reached the house the sun was out and the sky was filled with the most beautiful rainbow!
The rainbow made the near death experience worth it! HeeHee!
After charging the battery, the jet ski ran great. Of course the change in the weather made it impossible for Pat to leave without at least one trip around the cove. The temperature had risen a bit but I still call him crazy for taking it out.
We left the house just as the sun was setting which made for a nice ride home. It is so beautiful out there, like being in a different world (especially compared to our house downtown).
I can't believe it's spring already! Oh summer, I can't wait for you to get here!!
