TWO

That's right, Lily turned two on Sunday! We did the same thing as last year; family, chili, and cake. This year I was so much more excited. We haven't really bought her gifts yet but I had a long list of things I would have loved to get her. We decided a few months ago that we were going to get her a trampoline. She loves to, "Jump high, to the sky" so I couldn't resist.

Her first gift arrived in the mail on Saturday. I was like a child; I couldn't wait one more day for her to open it, I insisted she do it immediately. She opened the box, pulled out the newspaper and swooned over it, "Whoa, cool!". I urged her keep looking and soon she found the good stuff. She loved it and carried her "pets" around all weekend!

I am so lucky to have the best friends and family that love Lily so much. My good friend Jenny came in town to hang out and celebrate the birthday girl. She was also roped into babysitting (Denver, while Ryan and Haley went to a wedding) and party prep. Lily loves balloons so I wanted to surprise her with them when she woke up but didn't want to run out in morning so I picked up a small helium tank from Walmart. Jenny and I sat on the floor after Lily and Denver went to bed filling balloons and tying on string. After about the 15th balloon Jenny starts laughing, really hard. While reading the box and discovered that the balloons only lost 7-9 hours. Duh! I knew that! That's why I wasn't going to get them until morning. I was in prep mode and completely lost my mind. Luckily most of them stayed up until morning so I greeted Lily in her bed with a giant bunch of balloons. She was speechless! She literally just stared at them before jumping up and down with excitement. She drug them around with her all morning. She would grab one, say the color (getting it right about half the time) then give it a kiss! So cute!!!

Thank you Jenny, for helping to make my girl so happy!

Her reaction when Anacapri arrived was priceless!

We ate, opened a few presents, cut the cake, then went outside for the big reveal!

I'm not sure if she was more excited about her gifts or all of the people cheering for her.

Her gifts weren't enough to distract her from the puddles!

She wanted to wear a "hat too?!" like Anacapri.

We had a blast celebrating the fastest, most fun two years of my life!

Happy Halloween!

We had the BEST time yesterday! It didn't hit me until about 4:30pm on Halloween that we didn't carve a pumpkin. So, we did it right then. The only real reason behind it was watching Lily's reaction. I thought she would think it was cool. Well, the inside....she did not find cool!

....but she came around after it was carved. She liked putting the pieces back in like a puzzle. Before I knew it, it was time to put on her costume. My mom worked her magic again this year. I figured nothing could top the chicken costume she made last year so I chose something generic and simple, a strawberry. I should have known my mom is incapable of making anything generic. We tried on potions of the costume as they were being finished but it wasn't until last night that we put everything together. It was too much!!

I didn't realize until my mom came over after trick-or-treating
that I forgot to put the leaves on her wrists. I was so disappointed!

We went to a neighborhood down the road to visit our friends moms house first. It was the perfect place for her to get 'practice'. She said trick-or-treat as we rehearsed and, "thank you" with wide eyes, not knowing what to think of her first few pieces of candy. She continued the routine for every house, quickly learning to put her hand out for more candy. It was so funny, she wasn't sure what was going on. At the second house she held out her pail to show them her, "Candy!" and was in shock when they gave her more, and her favorite, a lolli-"pop"!

We walked from house to house listening to her babble about what she got at the last stop. We only went to about 10 houses due to short legs, being slowed by layers of leaves, combined with reviewing what we got after every house and watching all of the other kids running around. She would stand and stare at people going by, it was fun to watched the wheels turning in her head. She looked at everyone like, 'Is that....or isn't it....". She loved it! I woke up this morning wishing we could do it again tonight!

I am pretty conservative when it comes to candy but I figured
Halloween was a good excuse to let her eat candy after breakfast!

Last weekend we started our fall festivities by going to Shelly and Rob's for our second annual trip to Denver Down's Farm. I have been looking forward to it since we left last year! The best part of the weekend was seeing the kids together. They love each other and (overall) are so sweet with one another. It was so cute to watch Lily do everything Anacapri did. When my mom asked her about the trip she said she saw "Pi" and went down the "slide" holding "hands". Watching them hold hands is just the cutest!!

We also went to an 'enchanted forest' before we left. The kids were a little frightened at first but they warmed up after a while. *I know most kids do it, but the "Cheese!" face is killing me!

Happy Fall!!!
