It's all about Becky!

This past weekend we celebrated Becky's upcoming wedding with the girls in Beaufort. The weekend started off quickly as most of the group loaded into the Stier-mobile for the 2 hour drive. By the time we made numerous potty breaks, sat in traffic and picked up dinner it was almost sunset when we made it to the creek house so we started a fire (with a little help from the neighbors) and the chatter began!

Due to the expected bad weather from tropical storm Beryl we decided to make Saturday boat day! We spent some time sun bathing on the dock before Jon came by to take us for a ride to Aunt Susan and Uncle Jack's. We had a great time while visiting, as always!

After the boat ride, eight girls took showers and got ready which lead to changing our "reservations" 3 times before we arrived to dinner - late! Although our tardiness worked to our advantage. A festival taking place on the waterfront (which we were encouraged NOT to attend) ruined our evening plans but that didn't phase this group of girls. By the time we had finished dinner a band started to play. All we need is a few songs we recognize and the opportunity to sing in front of a mic and we're happy!

Sunday morning was surprisingly nice...then the raindrops started. We never got a lot of rain but it was off and on enough to keep us inside most of the day. We had a shower for Becky then made and ate dip, after dip, after dip. It was a great girls weekend and prepared us all for the fun celebration to come. Three more weeks!!

The Circle of Life

I was sad to come to the realization that our little birdies may not have made it to the point of leaving the nest on their own. A few weeks ago I notice baby birds in a bush at the lake. They were cardinals!! The following week I expected them to be gone but was very surprised to find little, feathery birds.

The Daddy, bringing food to the nest.

As my mom had tried to tell me, our little birds didn't make it to this point. It was upsetting to find them gone in the first place, now I feel really bad. But it brings me comfort to know that there are other birdies out there, making their way in life.
And in another bush at the lake, the circle of life continues...

It gets better and better

Today is our 2 year anniversary!

While I will always say that our first year was the BEST, as time goes on I love and appreciate Pat more and more. This may partially be due to the fact that he has spent much of this last year traveling for work so our time together is limited. We don't have time to sweat the small stuff so we try to take pleasure in all the things we do.

While boating on Sunday, it hit Pat that our anniversary was coming up and we wouldn't be together. We took the opportunity to celebrate by enjoying a romantic sunset cruise followed by a quick trip around the cove, side by side, on our matching jet skis.

Our second year of marriage has been a learning experience. Learning how to balance work, travel and the time that there is never enough of. I am proud to be Mrs. Patrick Stier, wife of a caring, thoughtful and HUGE-hearted man!
